The university was established in 2016 in the Güzelyurt district of North Cyprus on the northwest coast, it started its educational journey through the faculty of Medicine, the faculty of Social Sciences, the Institute of Higher Education, and a vocational school, it was recognized by the Higher Education Council of Turkey and the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Cyprus in its first year, and NARIC accreditation from the United States.
